The New Jeweller Bureau interviewed Mr. Daniel Benjano CEO of OGI Systems group India to know more about the company, its products and plans in India. Excerpts:

• Tell us something about your presence in India?

OGI Systems Ltd is located within the Bharat Diamond Bourse in Mumbai, India and has an extensive office in the Diamond manufacturing city of Surat.


• How do you see India as a potential for your products and which are those products of OGI Systems Ltd that you see a potential market in the country?

We have launched a new CAD system that will immensely help the jewellery designers. This software will enable the designers to scan any type of gemstone or rings into the Rhino software and after the final design will help him / her to print the same onto a 3D printer. We have also launched Solico - Diamond robotics system. This product is destined to create history in the Diamond industry as with this first and unique system it will be possible to create polished stone from a rough diamond, through Solico - Diamond robotics system. The automated process will help the staff to produce upto 90% of polish from rough stone. The small set up need to have only 2 polishers to achieve this feat for mass production.


• How important are shows and exhibitions for you and do you see business growing after participation in such shows?

Yes, I do feel Exhibitions and shows are immensely important and we at OGI Systems Ltd do take part in more than 6 leading exhibitions across the globe.
